What makes our orthopedic care cutting-edge?
Our unique four point care approach to treating hip and knee replacements ensures higher rates of success and better outcomes for our patients. Our methods include specialty treatments unavailable at other Physical Therapy clinics in the area. By providing these specialized treatments, in addition to traditional orthopedic physical therapy, we are able to provide patients with exceptional care and superior results.
McKenzie Assessment for radiculopathies
Nerve pain is often a common complaint following surgery, but frequently, stubborn pain in the joint has its roots, literally, in the spinal nerves. After joint replacements it is easy to assume all subsequent pain is from the surgery, making it easy to miss the presence of a radiculopathy. At Activecare, we assess our patients for potential radiculopathies, ensuring we are able to pinpoint the true root of pain and treat it effectively.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage for post surgical edema
Post surgical swelling and edema in the extremities is a common issue with many orthopedic patients. Occasionally, it is severe enough to cause discomfort, limit range of motion and cause feelings of self-consciousness. Our Certified Lymphedema Therapist, Julie , is able to provide these patients with lymphatic drainage massage to promote healthy fluid movement and prevent lymph congestion, which is clinically proven to significantly reduce pain and improve range of motion.
Scar Tissue Mobilization
Scar tissue is a result of surgeries and can severely restrict range of motion, trap nerves, and cause pain. We have pursued specialized training in a variety of soft tissue techniques that can help resolve scar tissue and reduce or eliminate the problems caused by it.
Astym
Astym is a soft tissue regenerative technique proven to stimulate healing, resolve scar tissue, and reduce pain and stiffness. Ehren Trost is the only certified Astym provider in the area.
